Leisure and transient travelers helped boost South Carolina hotel activity and bolster the hotel market beyond expected recovery numbers. High-volume activity will continue through the summer months, as families continue to travel to destination locations throughout South Carolina. The greatest challenge hoteliers currently face is meeting high demand with limited staff.

When cold calling, we’ve been told to memorize the script, gets the calls done as soon as possible, engage with and listen to the prospect, and be able to understand them and provide solutions. All the typical script says is your name, what you are selling, and that you would like for the prospect to buy your product or service. It doesn’t address who they are, what their current situation is, or what their ideal alternative is.

When I was approached by hertelier to share my experience about cold calling, I thought to myself, “I don’t want to be judged…” but when I reflected on what it would’ve meant to me if I knew at the beginning of my real estate career what I know now, and how much of a difference that would’ve made in reducing the wasted time dreading and stressing over making cold calls, I decided to go for it.

I am a Brokerage Associate in South Carolina specializing in the purchase and sale of hotels. My responsibilities include representing owners and users of hotel properties. I am a member of the Colliers hotels US practice group based out of the Colliers | Atlanta office and a member of the Colliers Hotels USA practice group spanning throughout the US.
